Having recently attained a certain “benchmark” age, I find myself reflecting on my life’s journey as if preparing to write the Prequel Movie. But I’m actually writing this as evidence for why I believe this organization is vitally important!

Unlocking the door to naturally making music, while helping a singer or instrumentalist feel UN-judged, is what I do instinctively; I teach “non-judgemental awareness” and MY teachers used the same approach.

So while guiding that process, I’ve distracted people into making confident sounds, and the final review is that the process was considerably easier that they previously thought; they, in fact, had fun!

Learning the logic and ease of attaining new pieces efficiently opens a “new door” and I’ve paid forward the magic my teachers taught me.

P.S. Here’s a hint about the “Prequel”: One never knows what will become of seemingly random ‘meets’ in life, for everyone…literally EVERYONE plays a role in your life, becoming a part of the great tapestry that SHAPES your life! When I was a little boy, almost 3 years of age, Leonard Bernstein broadcast his first Young People’s Concert, just two weeks after his sudden rise to become Music Director of the New York Philharmonic. My parents thought this might be an important thing: to expose me to the world of classical music, via television. Just by that one act/one choice, this program cemented so much of what I came to know and to emulate about ALL of artistic expression. Opera, Symphony, Ballet, Musical Theater, Operetta, Choir, Solo Piano, Accompanying….to me: these were but stylistic differences, (and each requiring TECHNICAL knowledge to manage such differences), like learning different languages, but something which exposed the Expression of the human spirit! Bernstein embodied that in ALL of his artistic expressions. I will share anecdotes of unusual and often amusing circumstances that I fell into, with each story in this blog.

Stay tuned!
